Crptoverse and my Worry for kids

  The Cryptoverse has amazing possibilities but also significant risks. I am a survivor of a mental health condition psychosis and depression and suffered multiple childhood traumas which I believed caused the mental health condition and the addiction. Current research suggests childhood traumas are certainly a causation in addiction and mental health. I am also a Drug and Alcohol intervention worker with children and teenagers, my academic study is in children and young people to a masters level and I’ve been working with young people for 15 years. Online gaming is keeping teenagers from falling through the cracks.

But here we are in this unparalleled crisis of confinement in the parallel universe of online gaming, the final frontier of youth work outreach. A place where no youth worker has gone before. For this youth worker who prides himself on his ability to work through face to face contact on the streets, in the stairwells and hidden spaces where young people congregate. This is truly an unprecedented experience, but also an opportunity to think outside of the box.   So why online gaming? Well why not? We are living through an emergency situation.
